Interviewed companies/methods:
For the survey, 1,500 companies from ten branches were interviewed
based on a standardized questionnaire. Contact persons were
heads of personnel departments, board members, executive directors
as well as members of the press department. |

The most important results:
In Germany, interim management is not yet common practice. Many companies
do not have an “emergency guide”, and are thus exposed to diverse
risks.
The most important operational areas of interim management are
project management and the executive/management board.
Due to a lack of control and insufficient reporting activities, the use
of interim managers often cannot be evaluated after the fact.

The survey gives extensive insight into the state of German
interim management and provides answers to questions
concerning the practical commitment as well as the integration
of temporary managers into a company: How much influence can
and should an interim manager have in order to be successful
for the enterprise? What is appropriate payment? Is the employment
worthwhile only in case of urgent problems or also for
self-contained projects?
